Most Liked

The Chippy shines with its excellent value for money. Many rave about the quality of the haddock, which is consistently praised for its fresh flavor and crisp batter. Diners frequently mention the homemade fish cakes, earning high marks for their deliciousness and texture. Customers appreciate the quick service, whether dining in or ordering delivery. The casual setting creates a feeling of comfort, making it ideal for relaxed meals. Reviews highlight the friendly staff that contribute to an overall enjoyable experience.

Most Disliked

Some patrons note that The Chippy can get busy, especially on weekends, which occasionally leads to longer wait times. The peak periods, particularly Saturday evenings, can overwhelm the kitchen. A few guests have expressed concerns over the unpredictability of portion sizes, though most find them quite generous. Additionally, while the menu features gluten-free options, not every dish can be adapted, which may disappoint some customers with dietary restrictions.

Used to use this chippy all the time until it was taken over by some southerners that had no idea. I'm pleased to say I've just tried it again and the staff were friendly, the service was quick and the haddock, chips and peas that I had was excellent. Great Grimsby chippy as it should be, good value too.

On entering, I was kindly greeted. The chips were cooked to perfection, home made fish cakes are probably the best I have ever had. Highly recommend and will make it a regular when I am in the grimsby area.

It's been about 3 or 4 years since we last had a meal from this chippy and we've just ordered a delivery of 2 large haddock and chips, through Grimsby and Clee Eats. My oh my, they have not changed in all that time. Still the best in Grimsby by far. Soft chips that taste amazing and fish that is cooked to perfection. Well worth every penny and I highly recommend them. It was a fast delivery too, taking only just over half an hour from placing the order to getting them on the table.

I have eaten fish and chips across the nation in many coastal spots acclaimed for their fish and chips. I can say now that The Chippy is up there with the greatest of them. The fish was moist, fresh, and cooked to order. The chips actually tasted of fabulous potato, rather than relying on the fact of having been deep-fried to provide fabulousness. I loved the service most; what warmth. Totally recommended.
